Weibo Wallet made a good start, 50000 Xiaomi mobile was sold out in a little longer than 5 minutes.

I explained that Sina Weibo start to provide their payment system "Weibo Wallet" before.

And I also explained that they have a plan of start campaign with Xiaomi mobile. They set 50000 Xiaomi mobile on there at December 21, but as a result these were sold out just 5 minutes 14 seconds.

Official account of Weibo Wallet said finally 1,300,000 people reserved this mobile phone, and related tweet was forwarded 2,400,000 times.

Watching this result so far, it can be said that Weibo Wallet made a good start. But Xiaomi mobile is one of the most popular mobile phone in China now, so there is some possibility that this result was issued from the popularity of Xiaomi mobile.

But anyway, it is a glaring fact that Weibo Wallet got the measurable registered users at this time. And they said that they extend the partnership with many suppliers in future, they also said that all company are welcomed.

We have to keep attention whether Weibo Wallet can get the big success or not as before.

Baidu published voice assistant apps similar to Siri. Now it supports only Mandarin.

Baidu published voice assistant apps similar to Siri today.

Its utilization method is also similar to Siri.
If you ask to it what you want to know, then it will reply the relevant answer.

Now it supports only Mandarin, but they said that they will extend the support language such as English and Chinese dialect. And it supports only Android devices, but they didn't mention to extend the support of other systems.

Recently Sogou also started to provide the voice assistant apps.

At this moment, it's not clear whether this kind of apps will become popular or not in China, so we have to keep watching trend of this in future.

Tencent got involved in trouble in the trademark right of "Weixin". Other company already filed its trademark earlier than them.

"Weixin" is a one of most popular Instant Messenger tool in China. Its international version is called "WeChat".

Recently, they got involved in trouble with the trademark of product name. Tencent filed its trademark on January 24, 2011.

But its one week ago, Beijing based other company already filed the trademark right of "Weixin" as follows.

Generally speaking, Weixin is already a well-known word at that time, so Tencent eventually may own its trademark right.
But on the other hand, the trademark right is preferred the earlier filing, so there is a possibility that Tencent have to change their name of "Weixin", or have to pay the royalty of this trademark right.

We have to keep watching this event as before, but I think that this is a simple mistake of Tencent. Because Weixin started its service on January 21, 2011. So they can file its trademark earlier than January 17.

Apple also struggle with the similar problem in China, we have to treat with these problem more carefully.

WeChat users was already 270,000,000 people, and its number may exceed 300 million people in the next month.

As you know, WeChat is the most popular IM tool now in China .

Tencent started to provide the service of WeChat on January 21, 2011. The number of this user exceeded 100 million people on March 29, 2012(it takes 433 days), and the number of this user exceeded 200 million people on September 7, 2012(it takes 172 days).

And according to the recent news, this user already exceeded 270 million people at December 8, 2012. So this means its user increased 70 million people in 81 days (from September 7, 2012). Because its recent daily increasing number is 864,200 people, if they keep the speed of increasing, then the day that the number of this user will exceed 300 million people may be around January 10, 2013.

Now WeChat is promoting not only in China, but also is promoting in the rest of Asia. And they recently accelerated the O2O marketing activity as the one of their monetize.

We have to keep attention to their activity not only in China, but also in the other country.
